Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Drag Racing. DESCRIPTION: At Castlereagh, New South Wales dragsters take part in the Sixth National Championship. SHOTLIST: MS dragster being unloaded from trailer. FV dragster being unloaded. MS mechanics round dragster. MCU name on front of dragster John Maher pan to man working on engine. MS 2 girls in bikinis sitting behind safety barrier watching. MCU ditto. MS 3 men round dragster Rickshaw 1. CU driver putting on fire proof head gear, being helped by another man. GV crowd along edge of course. MLS 2 dragsters on starting line. One starts off (nearest camera) pan to BV as second one starts off and races down course. CU automatic time clock. LSV 2 dragsters racing down course, drag parachutes come out as they slow down. Steward car driving along course after them. MS dragster on starting line, pan as it starts off and races away in a cloud of smoke. MCU tilt down electronic scoreboard. MS dragster on starting line, it goes off in a cloud of smoke, pan to BV of 2 dragsters racing and stewards car driving up behind. LS towards dragster racing down course, pan to BV as it goes past and stops with parachute. CU automatic time clock. CU wheel of dragster spinning as it starts away in a cloud of smoke. MLS dragster starting away smoking, pan to BV as it races away and is lost to sight in the smoke.
