- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: British Grand Prix - Colour. DESCRIPTION: Silverstone - setting for the British Grand Prix Motor race and Mecca, this year 100,000 enthusiasts from Great Britain and the Continent. A field of 25 top names was there to fight it out around the famous Northamptonshire circuit for valuable World Championship points. And £40,000 prize money - it was our richest Grand Prix ever. The flying Scotsman Jackie Stewart, took the lead in the fourth lap....and that’s where he stayed to take the chequered flag in a record breaking one hour thirty one minutes, thirty one point five seconds.
