MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Mount Etna - Colour. DESCRIPTION: An awesome spectacle for the thousands of tourists in the area, but disaster for the villagers. Mount Etna erupts once again with two violent explosions sending a new wave of destruction racing towards the towns below. Residents watched helplessly as the glowing avalanche crashed through the scrub towards their houses and farmland. SHOTLIST: GV pan main street of Fornazzo. SV street sign. GV 2 shots lava covered fields. TV house buried in lava rock. GV volcanic terrain. LV (at night) lava streaming down mountainside. GV red hot volcanic rock crumbling away. SCU & LV ditto. SV (daytime) villager - pan to burning remains of house surrounded by lava rock. GV sightseer in field. SV house with lava rock moving menacingly toward it - pan away. LV as lava falls onto road near house. 5 SVs house as boulders start to crash down around it, onlookers, as house starts to crumble under pressure from rock pan to rock engulfing the road, as half of house caves in, pan as giant boulder rolls down & past house. LV as rocks crash down on road. GV as remains of house fall down.
