Summary

MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: European Cup Final - Ajax V Panathinaikos. DESCRIPTION: Fans from the Continent invade Wembley for the European Cup Final clash between Holland and Greece. The Greeks were boasting an easy win before the game, but Ajax outclassed them easily to take the Cup two-nil. After the match, excited supporters invaded the pitch - creating some of the wildest scenes ever witnessed at Wembley. SHOTLIST: CU flag waving - zoom back - GV crowd. CU Ajax supporters. GV crowd & stadium. SV teams onto pitch. SV Greek supporter in traditional dress. SV spectators. TV zoom back - Ajax kick off L to R. GS as Ajax player shoots & goalkeeper saves. GS pan mid field play. TV Ajax attacks goalmouth at 46’. No 11 Keizer centres and No 10 Vandijk scores (heads it in). SCU pan along spectators. GV pan Greece build up attack but at 70’ Ajax goalkeeper (Stoy) fumbles ball & regathers pan. LV as Stoy kicks ball. GS pan Ajax player centres ball. TV pan Ajax shoot, but ball is saved. SV player rolls over on ground. TV Ajax build up strong attack at 102’ shot for goal, but it’s wide. 2ND HALF Zoom out, Greece kick off L to R. GS pan Greece build up attack. TV pan Ajax break away. TV pan Ajax attack goal at 144’ - player shoots over bar. TV pan Ajax attack again. TV pan ditto, player shoots & goalkeeper saves at length of scene. Greece attack at 194’ - player kicks over bar. GS goalkeeper saves. TV pan Ajax attack build up at 213’. Haan kicks ball, it’s touched but is in, zoom in. GV zoom out crowd. TV crowd invade pitch pan. SCU pan team & crowd. GV pan crowd as they go wild on pitch. LV captain receives cup. LV manager is lifted with cup. LV crowd dig up Wembley turf. SCU supporter holds up turf. LV policeman pushes away turf grabber. SV youth being escorted. GV police and youth fight. LV youth sitting cross legged. SV track past youth on ground. GV track in people with cup arguing.
