MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Calor Gas Taxis. DESCRIPTION: If you run out of gas, you just switch over to petrol. It’s an advantage for some London Taxi-drivers whose cabs have been converted to run on Calor Gas. But it’s only economical for fleet operators. Private motorists will have to wait a little longer. SHOTLIST: GV taxis lined up at depot. LV gas tanker. MS two mechanics lift Calor gas cylinder into boot of taxi. MCU tightening bolts. CU cylinder hose being connected (x2). MS mechanic fits vaporiser regulator under bonnet (x2). MS bonnet closed. MS cylinder being fitted with Calor gas. MCU dial on cylinder. CU vapour released. MS boot closed. CU switches by speedometer. MCU fumes from exhaust. MS back to taxi as it drives away from camera.
