Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Pop Festival. DESCRIPTION: How many came? Was it the quarter of a million some estimates claimed? It certainly seemed so, looking down from Devastation Hill on the vast arena of Europe’s biggest-ever Pop Festival. There was violence - there were the tearaways who find it their only means of self-expression. But for the vast majority it was five days of peaceful enjoyment, in spite of all the frustrations such a vast crowd inevitably brings. Five days of lazing around listening to music.
