Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Jump for Joy. DESCRIPTION: The villagers of Barjols, France, are not hopping mad. They stage an annual religious festival - jumping through the streets, to celebrate their prize possession - the relics of St MarcelPreparations for one of the world’s most famous carnivals. Newspaper and sticky paste are the basic ingredients of the colourful floats and figures which take months to construct. SHOTLIST: GV crowd in church jumping in honour of Saint Marcel. 4 shots MCU people jumping. 2 MS men jumping along with statuette of St. Marcel interior & exterior. 4 shots crowd jumping along street. 3 GVs men firing ceremonial guns, crowd with carrying statuette. 2 shots priest jumping along with altar boys. LAS ditto puts flowers on carnival figure. MS ditto. CU paste being mixed. MS man pasting paper onto figure. CUs ditto, man and paper being pasted on, model dragon’s eye being painted with a figure of Chairman Mao.
