Summary

MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Winter Roundup. DESCRIPTION: A brief look at the ills and thrills of Winter. EUROPE in the grip of some unusually heavy early snow-falls. LAPLAND where the annual reindeer roundup produces all the excitement of a Western in the frozen north. BRITAIN, where influenza continues to reap its miserable harvest of headaches and shivers - where millions are away from work, where hospital staffs are seriously depleted. FRANCE, where the skiing season swings into action and an Australian confounds all expectations and beats the cream of the Continent to win the Men’s Downhill at Val D’Isere.
