MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: News in Colour: Hardy Amies - Fashion Designer to the World. DESCRIPTION: A former expert in wartime sabotage broke down the frontiers of Fashion! It’s largely due to Hardy Amies that British fashion has made such an impact overseas, and few designers have managed to bridge the gap so successfully between the High Street and Haute Couture. This Autumn collection is always one of the most eagerly awaited. SHOTLIST: ‘News in Colour’ title. LAS fashion model walks through curtained doorway, poses in doorway, walks past camera. MS Hardy Amies’ designs on wall, pan to MLS Hardy Amies at his desk - zoom in. TS of fabrics on desk as Hardy Amies examines them. CU fibres of coat. MS model wearing the coat takes it off to reveal dress (general posing). LAS girl modelling red trouser suit with white hat. 91’ MLS ditto. CU fabric of tweed suit. 2 shots girl modelling the suit. 2 shots girl models evening gown. MS audience pan to girl modelling. MCU 2 women in audience. MS 2 models displays gaily coloured dresses. MCU suit design laid on table. MS girls marking materials in workroom. CU girl’s hands ditto. MS tailor inserting pins in material. CU tailor. CU tailor’s hands as he chalks up the material. LAS girl models suit of same material. CU scissors cut material - mustard yellow. MCU girls open jacket (revealing everything). MS man sewing material. CU man’s hands as he sews. MCU jacket is hung on dummy then covered over. Elevated MS studio sign on door, zoom out. Hardy Amies walks in. LAS Amies decides on jewellery to be worn by model. CU top of wide brimmed hat worn by model. Model looks up revealing rest of her body to camera. 3 shots model displays hat and suit - mustard yellow. End title.
