Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royal Regiment of Wales. DESCRIPTION: Two famous regiments, the Welsh Regiment and the South Wales Borderers, parade together to become the Royal Regiment of Wales. To inaugurate the new regiment, and present colours to it’s First Battalion, was their Colonel in Chief, Prince Charles. SHOTLIST: LV the Guards of the Royal Welsh Regiment marching in grounds of Cardiff Castle. CU Royal Welsh Regiment marching. CU guards march by with the old colours. GV ditto as they come to a halt. TS as Prince Charles arrives wearing uniform of Colonel in Chief for first time. Zoom in to him. GV as Prince Charles walks between ranks. 2 shots Charles talking to soldiers. LS the new colours being consecrated by the Chaplain General The Venerable Arch-Deacon JR Youens OBE, MC, QHC. SCU two Welsh Regiment veterans (Victoria Cross winners) Bill Fuller and Stokey Lewis right. CU Bill Fuller. CU Stokey Lewis, pan down to medals. SV Charles passing over new colours. LV as he salutes the colour. GV as he turns and walks back to the dais. CU the Battalion’s mascot being marched past ahead of parade. Pan up to soldier leading him (mascot is wearing new colours). GV the parade of soldiers marching past. SV Charles saluting. SV pan as the new colours are marched past. SV Charles salutes. LS the march past.
