Summary

In the Three-Miles, despite the absence of Kenya’s Keino, World Record holder Ron Clarke ran a fine race to confirm his leadership over the distance. SHOTLIST: GV the White City stadium. GV start of 800yds final. LS race in progress, No 19 Humphrey Khosi of South Africa in lead followed by No 2 John Boulter. MS ditto. GV Boulter No 2 overtakes Khosi No 19. MS timekeepers. GV Boulter No 2 wins 880yds final followed by No 1 John Carroll. CU John Boulter after race with John Carroll. MCU starter fires gun at start of 3 mile race. Pan start of 3 mile race. LS during race. No 3 leading and Clarke No 1 in 2nd place and No 17 McCafferty in 4th place. CU runners past, kick up dust as they pass. Pan to No 17 McCafferty leading, he is overtaken by No 27 Bruce Tulloh. MS runners past, pan as Ron Clarke No 1 competing last lap, No 37 Mecseu of Hungary in 2nd place. MCU women watching. GV Ron Clarke No 1 wins 3 mile race.
