Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Seeing Is Hearing. DESCRIPTION: Already familiar as Marineland entertainers, Dolphins are an absorbing interest for scientists. They are able to see underwater, even if their eyes are covered, as this unusual film demonstrates. SHOTLIST: MLS dolphin jumps out of water at Oceanaria in Australia. MS dolphin jumps out of water and takes fish out of man’s hand. MS dolphins under water as one jumps out of water. MS dolphin takes fish from man’s hand. MS dolphin lands back into water. MS man feeding dolphin at side of Oceanaria. CU ditto. MS dolphin chases fish in water. CU dolphin being fed. MS Dr William Dawbin sets up equipment. CU Dr W Dawbin puts on earphones. GV dolphin in Oceanaria jumps out of water. CU microphone lowered into water. MCU rubber suction pads fitted over dolphin’s eyes. CU ditto. MCU technician watching. MS dolphin in water. MS man throws metal ring into water. LS ditto. LS dolphin swims towards and then through. CU pan Dr W Dawbin receiving results. LS pan dolphin swims through two metal rings. MS dolphin swims to side of Oceanaria and has rings and rubber suction pads taken off.
