- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Death of a Duchess. DESCRIPTION: In 1936, at Hope Cove near Salcombe, the Herzogin Cecilie - one of the last of the old grain ships, ran aground on Hamstone Rock. Weeks later on a high tide, the ship was pulled off the rocks and was towed round to Starhole Bay, where later she broke her back in a South Easter.
