Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Reward for Courage. DESCRIPTION: At a College for the Handicapped near Alton in Hampshire there are many examples of strength of character. Bernard Mulevu from Kenya is exceptional. A victim of polio since the age of two, he’s learning to make surgical footwear. He crawled on his hands and knees from his home in Katui to a Trade School at Kabete. There he was taught his trade and did so well he was recommended for training in Britain. The authorities heard his story and awarded him a Commonwealth Grant. In two years, he will be going back home to teach others by his skill and his example. SHOTLIST: Key scene.
