MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Open Road?. DESCRIPTION: Many competitors from all parts of the world entered for the Tour of Britain, the greatest amateur cycle race in the world. The race itself covers about fourteen hundred miles. But how much longer will the roads be clear enough to hold events like this? Mr Marples has been discussing the controversial Pay-as-you-drive idea. It could feature meters which you fit to your car. First shown on Movietone last September. SHOTLIST: Key scene.
