Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Thousand Years Before Christ. DESCRIPTION: Today, we call it Luxor, but a thousand years before the birth of Christ, it was the great city of Thebes. The jewel of its greatness was Karnak, the largest temple in the land. Two 70 foot statues of Rameses guard the Temple of Luxor, two miles away, one of the most fantastic buildings ever conceived. Linking these two - the fabulous Avenue of the Sphinxes, discovered at last beneath three thousand years of dirt and debris. This great processional route is lined either side by about 400 of them, each with the body of a lion and the head of a King. SHOTLIST: Key scene. CU map of Egypt zoom into detail of map.
