MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: New Events - in Colour (Alex Portner - Painter of Beauty). DESCRIPTION: Alex Portner - Painter of Beauty. We visited the London Studio of Alex Portner, to take a look at some of his work. He was born of Russian and Polish parentage, and studied in Berlin, Leipzig and Paris. 17 years ago came his first big chance, a series of portrait commissions which allowed him to use his brush full time.
