Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Hydraulics to the Rescue. DESCRIPTION: A new sound on the new roads, far more forceful than the Mersey Beat. It’s the beat-beat-beat of the multiple pile-up. But new equipment has been developed to speed up the rescue of the injured. The Hertfordshire Fire Brigade gave us a demonstration of the equipment which uses hydraulic power to open up a vehicle that’s been badly crushed in an accident. SHOTLIST: Key scene.
