- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Winter Olympics. DESCRIPTION: The first Gold Medal of the Winter Olympic Games was won by Oleg Protopopov and Ludmilla Belousova of Leningrad, for ice skating. Second came Hans-Jurgen Baumler and Marika Kilius from Germany. Next comes skiing, the winner of the Mens Downhill race, was Egon Zimmermann, who already holds the world title for the Giant Slalom.
