Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Soccer Centenary - England on Top of the World. DESCRIPTION: Celebrating the hundredth anniversary of the Football Association, the English Eleven take the field at Wembley alongside a team representing the Rest of the World. One of the greatest soccer encounters ever staged, it’s the first time ever that a World team has played a single nation. As Armfield and Di Stefano exchange courtesies, the record crowd see England kick off. In the 66th minute Terry Paine fairly hammered it home. Then Denis Law took a pass from Puskas, to equalise. And what a satisfying finale to this centenary occasion. Charlton’s victory pass and Greaves triumphant winning goal. England 2. The Rest of the World 1. SHOTLIST: Key scene. GV pan Wembley Stadium.
