Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Sarawak Goes to the Polls. DESCRIPTION: Kuching is the tiny capital of Sarawak; a country about the size of England but with a population of only 750,000. Recently general elections have been held to elect the Government which will lead this British colony into independence within the Federation of Malaysia. Its been under British protection since 1888, and became a colony in 1946. SHOTLIST: Key scene. GV the capital Kuching, pan polling station to queues of voters. MS voters (3 shots).
