MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Driving With a Difference. DESCRIPTION: The Beeching Plan closing down so many unprofitable railway lines has given some people some bright ideas. The Railmobile an invention which allows the motorist to drive his car along the railway lines. Also the Amphicar. You can drive not only to the river, but on it. SHOTLIST: Key scene. GV railway station. MLS same. CU Railmobile drives onto truck. CU wheels on rollers. MCU man fixing hooks from truck. CU same (2 shots). CU car wheels revolving on rollers of truck. CU Railmobile comes to rest by station. MS Amphicar along road. GV bridge and car approaching on the water. MS car on the water. LS shot of bank from car. CU wake from car. MS car on water. Railmobile was invented by Mr CJ Prescott. The Amphicar is made by the Mercedes Company in Germany. It is powered by Triumph engines, giving 8 knots cruising, and normal speeds operating on roads. British Distributors are Amphicar (Gt Britain) Ltd. Price approx £1,200.
