MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Hong Kong - Duke Gets a Dunking!. DESCRIPTION: The world famous Dragon-Boat Races is really a festival for the fishing community. The Dragon Boats (22 of ‘em) are some 45 feet long. Among the boats which came to grief, the British Army entry with the Duke of Kent aboard. But with the temperature up in the 90’s, they probably weren’t too worried. SHOTLIST: Key scene. GV pan - small boats. GV crowds. MS group of men in Dragon Boat Race. MS girl onto boat. GV pan - start of race. LS boat sinks. MS crowd watching. MLS men leave their boat to help a sinking boat. MS pan - race in progress. CU flags and pan down to men in water. MS men pull sunken boat out of water, the Duke of Kent (2 shots). MS people in boat. The Duke starts baling water from boat. GV boats. The organisers of the Dragon Boat Festival (one of the highlights is the Dragon Boat Race) invited a team from the British Army to take part. The Duke of Kent who serves in Hong Kong, was among the army competitors.
