Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Ceremony of the Trooping (In Colour). DESCRIPTION: Riding her magnificent new horse Doctor, the Queen, was accompanied on parade by Prince Philip (Colonel of the Welsh Guards). Over a thousand guardsmen. The only parade in which the 5 guards bands ever appear together. It’s the colour of the 2nd battalion, Grenadier Guards. It’s the first time that this battalion’s colour has been trooped since 1939. With the trooping completed, they swing into the march past. Soon the 2nd Battalion Grenadiers will be leaving for service in British Guiana. It’s the end of another brilliant trooping ceremony, which celebrates not only the Queen’s Official Birthday, but also the tenth anniversary of her reign. SHOTLIST: Key scene (fade in).
