DESCRIPTION: Scene of the most recent storm in the Caribbean teacup, the island of Hispaniola, uneasily shared by the Dominican Republic of Haiti. Throughout history Haiti has been a trouble island. Although Haiti was the first Latin-American country to achieve independence it has remained one of the world’s poorest. Poverty has been forcing ground for more than 130 political upheavals. In Haiti the emotions are never far below the surface. It’s this that makes the island one of the most exciting and explosive in the world. SHOTLIST: Key scene.
