MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: King of Norway’s Visit. DESCRIPTION: A highlight of King Olav’s 3-day visit to Scotland was the bestowal of the highest honour Civic Authority can confer, the Freedom of the City of Edinburgh, which he was to receive at the Usher Hall. Now to the Firth of Forth where his Majesty inspected the new Road Bridge which, when completed, will be the largest single-span in Europe. In Glasgow, King Olav visited the Holm Foundry at Cathcart. The Fairfield Shipbuilding Yards were next on the programme. An excellent choice for this sailor-King whose people share with Scotland a great sea-going tradition. SHOTLIST: Key scene.
