Summary

MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Welcome to Wimbledon - 1st Day. DESCRIPTION: Once again, the top tournament of the tennis world opened at the All England Club. By tradition, the reigning champion, Australia’s Rod Laver opened proceedings on the centre court in his match against Kumar of India, a former Davis Cup captain. Kumar produced some good tennis in the first set, but failed to hold the champion. SHOTLIST: TS crowd (x2). MS lady players arriving. 2 shots players arrive. MS woman in flowery hat.
