- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Meet Les Paras. DESCRIPTION: The first of a company of French paratroops, known as Les Paras, arrived by air at Abingdon RAF Station. They were over on a flying visit for a liaison exercise with Britain’s First Parachute Regiment. The idea was to take part in a drop over Dartmoor. But our Spring weather was so bad, that part of the exercise had to be cancelled. A good tuck-in was regarded as the best way to welcome our French allies. SHOTLIST: Key scene. Plane arrives.
