- Summary
- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Tragedy in Peru. DESCRIPTION: It happened in Northern Peru, beside the country’s highest mountain, Mount Huascaran: an avalanche of snow, ice and rock swept down on a village, which was totally destroyed. The death roll has been put at 3,000, but it’s still too soon to tell. Near-by communities in other villages have been evacuated. Their homes too, were threatened by the melting snows on the mountain. The disaster is a repetition of the 1941 tragedy, in which 5,000 lost their lives. SHOTLIST: Key scene. CU pan (2 shots) rock. MS & CU (2 shots) villages. GV valley. MCU villager. CU pan rock. CU (4 shots) inhabitants from other villages. MS pan villagers evacuated from their homes. CU (4 shots) same. GV pan valley where the village used to be.
