MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Race Is On!. DESCRIPTION: The Daily Mail ten thousand pound race between London and Paris commemorates Bleriot’s historic flight across the Channel fifty years ago. The race is between Marble Arch and what might, perhaps be regarded as its counter-part in Paris: the Arc de Triomphe. Just before the day, at Marble Arch, we found Max Bygraves, apparently practising for the off. Movietone made a high-speed survey of possible means of transport. SHOTLIST: Cyclists pass camera (key).
