- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: British Games. DESCRIPTION: To the White City, now, and a selection from the British Games, sponsored by the News of the World. The eight eighty international event was won by Mike Rawson of Great Britain (number eleven). Next, the two twenty B international being thrashed out between our own runners and sprinters from Poland, Hungary and Germany. David Jones of Great Britain chalked up another victory for the old country in the fast time of twenty-one point two. And here the hundred and twenty yards hurdles: another international and another British win, thanks to the splendid hurdling of Peter Hildreth. Time: fourteen point seven. . Finally, the one mile international with Derek Ibbotson, a former World record holder, a strong British challenger. But the victory went to Siegfried Valentin of East Germany. Ibbotson later consoled himself by a really magnificent win in the two-mile event. SHOTLIST: GV White City interior. BS start of 880 yard international. Pan race. Pan same - Mike Rawson (GB) wins.
