MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Queen Visits New Town. DESCRIPTION: When Stevenage received a visit from the Queen, the naming of Queensway (the chief shopping street) was performed by unveiling a panel on the clock tower. Her Majesty then visited a butcher’s shop and a pub, run by Wilf Mannion, the former football star. The Queen also went to the Royal Veterinary College Field Station at Potters Bar.
