MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Rochdale Candidate. DESCRIPTION: The Socialists, represented by Mr Jack McCann hope to capture Rochdale from the Tories at the forthcoming by-election. Mr John Parkinson aims at increasing the General Election Conservative majority of 1,590. This time it’s a three-cornered fight, and the Liberals pin their faith on Mr Ludovic Kennedy, whose wife (actress and dancer Moira Shearer) is helping him. SHOTLIST: Shots of Mr J McCann (Socialist) calling at houses. Shots of Mr Parkinson (Conservative) canvassing in streets, meets 3 ladies and talks to them.
