MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royal Tour. DESCRIPTION: One of the interesting places visited by the Queen and the Duke recently was the open-cast mine at Yallourn. At Government House, Melbourne, the Duke of Edinburgh received a cheque for £12,000 from Sir Clive McPherson, Chairman of the Cutty Sark Appeal in Victoria for the Fund of which the Duke is Patron. At O’Shannassy, a most attractive chalet was put at the disposal of the Royal visitors for a two-day rest from official duties. One of the final Royal engagements in Melbourne, was to meet tens of thousands of children. SHOTLIST: At Yallourn famous Brown Coalfields. Queen and Duke looking at huge field being played with water to prevent fire. Various shots of Queen and Duke also on Coalfield. The Yallourn coalfield covers 30 square miles and contains about 6,000 million tons of coal. Good shots of the Queen. Wipe. One climbing tree, another mother with baby on back. Mix. Thousands of children doing marching on field in Melbourne. Hundreds of children doing the Maypole dance, with long streamers. Long shots of children making the welcome on grass. Excellent shots. Queen and Duke in Land Rover through children, break through lines and crowd round car. Duke has to direct them out of the way in order to move along.
