MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Royal Tour. Departure From Nz. DESCRIPTION: Towards the end of their tour of New Zealand, the Queen and the Duke visited the Southland Agricultural Show. Later they visited Gore where another great welcome awaited them. Finally from Bluff, Gothic was waiting to take them on to Australia. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Streets thronged with people. Queen & Duke on balcony at Invercargill. Queen & Duke take seats to watch Agricultural show. Various shots of horses, etc. SCU Q & D. CU Duke (very good). CU Queen (very good). At Gore Queen with Lord Mayor, takes seat on dais. Little girl presents bouquet (upside down). Queen laughing. Bluff. ‘Gothic’ alongside quay. Queen and Duke with Mr Holland walk to boat. Queen chats with Mrs Holland. Queen and Duke bid farewell. Queen & Duke up gangway, turn and wave. SCU Queen & Duke on bridge. Queen spots friend in crowd, points same out to Duke. Good natural shots of royal pair. Duke does a Maoris sign with his hands. Maoris dancing on quay. Governor General Sir Willougby Norrie and wife wave farewell. Good shots of royal pair waving. ‘Gothic’ pulls away. Small boats escort her out to sea. Good shot of ‘Gothic’ on the horizon.
