Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royal Commonwealth Tour Continued. DESCRIPTION: On the day after their arrival in New Zealand, the Queen and His Royal Highness attended a youth rally at a park known as Auckland Domain. On Boxing Day, they visited the Ellerslie Racecourse, where fifty thousand people gathered to greet them. In the evening, the Queen and the Duke attended a film premiere at an Auckland Cinema. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Usual key scenes (artist’s impression). Queen & Duke arrive at Youth Rally, shots driving through cheering crowds in Land Rover. Queen & Duke at Ellerslie Racecourse, shots of race, cut-in of Queen & Duke watching. Finish of big race, Queen presents Cup to owner of horse Coaltown (Mr Glazebrook). Evening - driving to cinema, entering presented to dignitaries in foyer, also receives bouquet from child.
