MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Australian News. DESCRIPTION: After twenty-nine days at sea, the New Zealand-built yacht, Blue Water recently arrive at Tahiti - during festival time. At Taronga Park Zoo, Sydney, a big attraction is always provided when the elephants take their bath. Australian aboriginals, who have naturally got boomerang making down to a fine art and lately, they have been making a lot of new boomerangs, for souvenirs and demonstrations will come into the picture during the Royal visit. The keenest anticipation is felt throughout Australia and an official welcome song has been composed in readiness for the Queen’s visit. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Yacht. CU occupants. Shot off shore of island of Tahiti and harbour Papeete. Two yachtsmen lower sail. LS sea with natives in canoes. SCU native canoe festively decorated. Group of natives. Canoe down river. Procession through streets, SCU Tahitian Hulah girls, wearing grass skirts. Men play instruments, rear view of girls dancing, hip waggling. CU yachtsmen very appreciative. Tahitian men perform dance with stools. Wipe. Taronga Park Zoo, Sydney. Elephants taking bath in pool. CUs elephant up to neck in pool. Three elephants really enjoying themselves in pool. Cut-ins spectators laughing. Very sunny weather. Wipe Australian aboriginals throwing boomerang (modern dress). Boomerang through sky & coming back. Boomerangs being made. CUs processes design burnt on. CU finished boomerang. Wipe. Boys choir on dais sing first verse of welcome song composed for Queen’s visit.
