MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Striking It Rich. DESCRIPTION: Bill Freeman, a gold prospector in Northern Rhodesia, exploring limestone caves on his land, found they were inhabited by tens of thousands of bats. The floor of the caves consisted of centuries-old deposits of bat guano, one of the finest fertilisers in existence and worth more than gold. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Men at mouth of cave. Owner Mr Bill Freeman, directs operations. Inside same. Deposits of soil tested. Walls being examined. MS many bats hanging from roof. CU handful of bat guano, excellent fertiliser. Men fill sacks with same. Sacks hauled to top. Removed from mouth of cave.
