Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Her Majesty at Runnymede. (Unveiling Air Forces Memorial). DESCRIPTION: Thousands went to Cooper’s Hill, Runnymede, for the unveiling of the Air Forces Memorial. The official invitation to Her Majesty the Queen to perform the ceremony was made by the Duke of Gloucester. Receiving a silver key from the Architect, Mr Edward Maufe, Her Majesty unlocked the door to the Cloister. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. CU RAF Crest. Crowds on Cooper’s Hill. Queen inspects Guard of Honour (RAF) followed by Duke of Edinburgh & Duke of Gloucester. Duke of Gloucester asks Queen to unveil memorial. CU memorial being unveiled. Queen addresses large gathering. Queen places wreath in front of memorial. Queen receives key from Edward Maufe (architect). Queen with Maufe walks through cloisters looking at names. CU & cut-ins of names. Relatives entering cloisters. Laying wreaths by relatives over part of the Queen’s speech.
