MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Cup Winners Welcome Home. DESCRIPTION: Arriving home after their sensational Wembley victory, the Blackpool team received a tremendous welcome from the people there. From the Town Hall steps, Stan Matthews had a few modest words to say before the players received a civic reception. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. CU Johnston leaning out of train window holding FA Cup. Inside train en route to Blackpool, Team seated, tilt up to Cup in luggage rack. Driving through crowded & cheering Blackpool. CU Tower tilt down to crowds. Arrival outside Town Hall, Johnston out of coach followed by others. Johnston meets Mayor, Johnson at mike, silent. Stanley Matthews says a few about the team winning the Cup not just him. Matthews speaking on steps of Blackpool Town Hall. I am told that by one or two people that I was a match winner, as a matter of fact I don’t believe that, for the simple reason that we have here eleven match winners.
