Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: New Iraq Oil Pipeline. DESCRIPTION: Pumping stations and over 550 miles of 30 inch pipeline have been completed between Iraq and the port of Banias in Syria. Such a job deserves a ceremony of inauguration and young King Feisal of Iraq flew to Kirbuk to perform it. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. MS of oil centre in desert. Various shots of workmen joining pipes and completing pipeline. Arrival of King Feisal. Alights from plane, greeted by VIPs. Insects Guard of Honour. Accompanied by Sir John Cunningham, Admiral of the Fleet and Head of the Iraq Petroleum Company. King Feisal walks onto pumping stand. King Feisal turns wheel to start flow of oil. Cut-ins of dials showing pressure of oil increasing. King Feisal assisted by his uncle Prince Regent Abdul Illah.
