Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Cowes Regatta (Duke’s Yachting Holiday). DESCRIPTION: The Duke of Edinburgh flew back to London Airport from Helsinki in a Comet. He was soon to go to Cowes to compete in the races for the Flying Fifteens and Dragon classes. He was placed second and third respectively. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. GV Cowes with yachts in fore. GV Cowes mix to painting of Cowes many years ago. At London Airport, Duke walks from Comet, boards Dove & take-off. Mix to Duke aboard launch & boarding yacht Jeanne d’Arc. Duke climbs aboard Coweslip shots of it racing. Various shots of Duke’s yacht No 192. Crowds, Duke comes ashore - GV. Dragon Class Race, Bluebottle racing, various shots of the race, hardly any wind, Bluebottle finished third.
