Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Queen’s Busy Day. DESCRIPTION: Lying at Tower Pier, the Norwegian Sealer Tottan provided the object of one of the Queen’s many recent engagements. The Royal Show at Newton Abbot was also inspected by the Queen, who spent more than six hours touring the exhibition - the Minister of Agriculture, Sir Thomas Dugdale accompanied her. There was another West Country welcome for the Queen, when she went to Dorchester on her way to call on tenant farmers of the Duchy of Cornwall. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. CU Royal Coat of Arms. Tower Pier, Queen arrives goes aboard Tottan expedition ship, inspecting various equipment, also chats with crew. Queen leaves after three cheers. At Newton Abbot, with Sir Thomas Dugdale, inspects exhibition, also judging of horses. Presents medals to several ‘locals’. At Dorchester, Queen at Naumbury Ring, signs visitors book, & walks through cheering crowds.
