Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Nairobi Greets Royal Visitors. DESCRIPTION: Their Royal Highnesses given great welcome. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. GV Nairobi. Various skylines of city, also ground shots of traffic scenes in streets, police control traffic. At Sagana Lodge, various shots of the house, exterior - interior, some very good shots of the grounds. Back at airport, Eastleigh. CU types of African tribe chiefs, also various shots of them, chatting (silent) with Sir Philip Mitchell, the Governor. Argonaut taxies across aerodrome to standstill. Greeted by Governor & wife. Bouquet presented by small boy named Prince. Princess Elizabeth uses a little persuasion. Inside maternity hospital, Princess Elizabeth & Duke at bedside of Negress & boy Prince kneeling on bed. GV arrival at Government House, crowds outside. In grounds, Princess Elizabeth & Duke receiving guests, shaking hands, several shots. Elevated GV Cathedral. Arrival of royal couple, received by Archdeacon Hopkins & Bishop. Drive through crowded & decorated streets to Town Hall. Royal couple on balcony of Town Hall. At Government House, thousands of children in grounds, Princess & Duke drive through avenues of cheering children, African & Western types. CU Princess & Duke in car as same passes.
