MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Gloucesters’ Welcome Home. DESCRIPTION: The Glorious Gloucesters, arriving on the Empire Fowey dock at Southampton, where the first welcome, from relatives and friends awaited them before the official welcomes which were to follow. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. GV ship. Ship alongside quay, troops waving & cheering. Cut-ins relatives ashore waving. Lt Colonel Grist amid the crowds. Captain Harvey leads the Gloucesters off ship. SCU Harvey & men grouped together posing for cameras. Reunion scenes, embracing, kissing etc. Harvey with his wife & children. GV troops & Gloucesters paraded. MS rostrum showing officials on same. CU flashes on shoulders, also the Gloucester name. Mayor & others on platform. Lt General Weatherall reads message from Duke of Gloucester. Three cheers by troops paraded.
