- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Scots Guards Return From Malaya. DESCRIPTION: By rail from Kuala Lumpur, the second battalion, the Scots Guards, went to Singapore to board the Empire Halladale for the voyage to Britain. The battalion, arriving at Liverpool, had some very welcome leave in prospect. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. SCU Line of Scots Guards. . At Kuala Lumpur - shots of men crowded on platform, officers drinking with officials in evening dress. Train loaded with troops pulls out of station. Singapore - Scots Guards marching along quay, boarding the Empire Halladale. Various shots of them lining decks. Pipe band counter marching along quay. Library - Shots of troops passing through jungle, several shots. Troops pass through swamps, up to their waist in water, into camera & out of camera. SCU Malayan prisoner. At Liverpool - Empire Halladale coming in along quayside. Cut-ins crowds waving, troops disembarking, various shots. Line of troops along quay. SCOTS GUARD HOME FROM MALAYA - CARD 55467. Troops on side of ship. Down gangplank. Ship comes in harbour. Troops carrying kit. Ship is the Empire Halladale.
