MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Memorial Service to Ernest Bevin. DESCRIPTION: The memorial service to Ernest Bevin in Westminster Abbey was attended by men of all parties and people in every walk of life. The Premier, who’d just come from hospital, was there with Mrs Attlee. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. LS Abbey with Parliament Square in foreground. SCU towers & tilt down to entrance. Trade union workers enter Abbey. Arrival Mr Eden. Arrivals in following order: Lord Fraser, Field Marshal Slim. Chuter Ede, Mr Gaitskell, then Gaitskell with Lord Jowitt. Mr Strachey, Aneurin Bevan, Mr Morrison, Mr & Mrs Attlee walk from car, shot walking towards door of Abbey. Royal representatives leave Abbey. Cut-in GV Abbey. Mrs Bevin, daughter & son-in-law, Mr Sydney Wynne. Mr & Mrs Attlee followed closely by Mr Churchill. Elevated GV of crowds outside & cars picking up their passengers. Majority of them in morning dress.
