Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Movietone Visits Winged Sanctuary. DESCRIPTION: Saldanha, on the Coast of South Africa, sixty miles North of Capetown, is a small tourist centre. About forty minutes out to sea lie three bird island sanctuaries, protected not only by their rocky approaches, but also by the Union Government. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. SCU hundreds of birds. GV Saldanha sanctuary. Aboard ship approaching island. Various shots of rocky approaches. Various shots of the island showing thousands of birds, malagas. Cape Gannets, etc. Birds - malaga diving into water. Various shots of other birds including the Duicker, penguins, the latter getting up to various capers. Penguins rush into water, through narrow entrance.
