MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: To Capture Those Ashes. DESCRIPTION: The MCC had a good send-off at St Pancras where they boarded the train for Tilbury. Onboard the Stratheden Skipper Freddie Brown had a few words to say. SHOTLIST: St Pancras Station - MCC board train. Leslie Compton shakes hands with Denis Compton. Hutton & Close. Train pulls out. Tilbury - Party board "Stratheden". Compton surrounded by autograph hunters. Close says goodbye to young sister. Brown interviewed, says a few words - hopes to return with the Ashes. Also Denis Compton saying that his knee will stand up to play. "Stratheden" pulls away from quay. BS relatives waving to ship. GV ship.
