Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Seretse Khama Back in Bechuanaland. DESCRIPTION: Seretse Khama has arrived back in Bechuanaland, though banned from his tribal territory, he landed at Gaberones and was greeted by a number of headmen and tribesmen. Meanwhile, at Mahalapye, Ruth Khama waited to greet Seretse in vain. SHOTLIST: KS. GV hotel with car in fore (location - Gabarones). GV hotel. Airfield with five planes assembled. CU Mr Fraenkel (his lawyer) & Peto Sekgoma (his uncle). Sekgoma walks towards other headmen with telegram in hand. CU Ruth Williams waiting in car (Library material). Several shots of headmen camping in fields & under trees. Two native children in straw skirts, walk past & out of camera, water melons on their heads. Lorry loads of tribesmen arrive at aerodrome, with tribesmen on the outside of wire fencing. Seretse’s plane lands & taxies. Seretse walks across aerodrome with official & headman. Shakes hands with headmen. Seretse wipes his brow. SCU of Seretse Khama to finish.
